Meet our Founder, Coach Jade.

Grace Fitness & Athletics was founded by Jade Hayes, M.Ed., a certified adaptive personal trainer and PhD student at Old Dominion University with a deep commitment to advancing inclusive health, wellness, and movement opportunities for individuals of all abilities.

Coach Jade earned her Master of Education in Kinesiology for Individuals with Disabilities from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education with a concentration in Human Movement Sciences – Applied Kinesiology at Old Dominion University.

Her doctoral studies focus on advancing knowledge in human movement, adaptive physical activity, and evidence-based approaches that support improved health, wellness, and participation for individuals with disabilities.

With a professional background spanning adaptive fitness programming, group training, youth athletic development, and disability-focused educational environments, including experience supporting individuals through the Virginia Institute of Autism and public school settings, Coach Jade brings both expertise and lived dedication to her work in the adaptive wellness space.

Her approach is rooted in structure, safety, and intentional progression, ensuring each client is supported based on their individual needs while building strength, confidence, and independence.

More than fitness, Coach Jade’s mission is impact-driven and purpose-fueled: expanding access to quality training for individuals with disabilities and creating spaces where every body is prioritized, respected, and empowered through movement.

At the core of Grace Fitness & Athletics is Jade’s belief that health and wellness should be accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all. Through continued education, research, and hands-on coaching, she is committed to helping shape a more inclusive future in fitness and wellness.
